Spleen – is the title of the next exhibition to open at Arthall in Gozo. This is a collective exhibition by Harrison Levi, Stiefnu De Battista and Tomas Hed, consisting of a combination of paintings and sculptures.
The exhibition, entitled Amalgam, reflects the merger or rather fusion of the Maltese and Sicilian ceramists as part of an ongoing collaboration. It follows a previous roaming exhibition entitled Vasi Communicanti held in Sicily in March 2018, commemorating the influence on his peers of the life and works of well-known, Sciacca-born ceramist Cosimo Barna.
Vasi Comunicanti is a collective ceramic exhibition between artists from Malta and Italy. The main inspiration for this exhibition is the late artist Cosimo Barna, an inspirational and unique artist from Sciacca.
We see butterflies nearly every day. Photographers snap shots of them, artists paint them, while jewellery makers bend silver in their likeness. Butterflies are a popular motif in the visual and literary arts.
